at first, it itched VERY VERY BAD. & my discharge was so heavy that i had to put on a pad so it wouldn’t get through to my pants. when my discharge dried on to my pad, it was very yellow. now it’s whitish with a lil yellow to it. sometimes, i can smell it just from sitting down. other times, i can’t at all. it doesn’t itch constant, just sometimes. & yes it does have an odor. i heard that yeast infections dont have any kind of odor, well at first it smelled really bad and now not so bad at all. but theres a lil ickyness to the smell (not like it was).

Yes it sounds like a yeast infection, go to the doctor asap.

So, really long story short, my ex though I gave him an std, and all my tests came back negative and he’s yet to get his back. Looking it up on the internet, it kinda looks like I may have given him a yeast infection. I know treatment for women includes probiotics, but if it’s contracted second-hand, then could antibiotics have cured it for him? (His ex was a HUGE whore, so it may have been an std that I didn’t get, but still)

go for these home remedies.. though it is meant for women but it will work on men too.. All the best..

Ok this is now the 3rd time I have had this… For those who don’t know what it is it’s NOT a STD an you don’t give nor catch it from anyone I’ve been told by many Doctors and know for a fact myself. You can’t use the same thing you can use for a yeast infection to get rid of it. Not trying to be rude, but if you don’t have a clue what I’m talking about save the comments saying go to the Dr. Been there done that antibiotics are just short term for me an other women. So after medications/antibiotics from the Dr. has faild many times. Due to the antibiotics the Dr. gives kills both good an bad bacteria making it easier for BV to come back again an again an harder to get rid of each time it does come back. I have been to the Dr. for this one as well an once again it was hopeless.

I have come across some things that I want to know if they have worked for anyone else. I have read that they do but that’s just on some site. Due they really get rid of BV leaving the beneficial bacteria that all us women have there to prevent it from coming back?

I have already taken steps to improve my diet I’ve seen every where that it can help a lot.

From what I read I guess these are all pills? Folic acid, acidopholus an cranberry pill? I read that it will help keep the beneficial flora balanced in the vagina…. Does it get rid of it can they be used as a cure or does it just keep it under control like a medication? Flat out can they be used as a cure do they work???? One more thing can you buy them at like wal-mart without a persciption? Help please BV gets to the point where it takes over my life leaving me with no personal life. If anyone knows of any cures or ways to get rid of BV in there own personal experiences please let me know. If you even know of some home remedies.

You are right in what you are saying antibiotics are the usual treatment for bacterial vaginosis but as these kill all the bacteria within the vagina even the good bacteria recurrent BV is a real problem. All of the other things you mention will help with your general health and stop the BV coming back. I would always start with a course of antibiotics and then continue with the more natural treatments to prevent it coming back.

Its all about maintaining the flora (bacteria balance) of the vagina and things like the folic acid and acidophilus will help. Actually acidophilus lactobacitllus is the good bacteria found within the vagina so taking acidophilus supplements is a great idea and yes they are in capsule form available from any good health store.

Another thing you could try is natural yogurt with live cultures (good bacteria) a well known brand is Activia. Now you can eat this or soak a tampon in it an insert directly in to the vagina.

Do not panic and good luck with any treatments you try.

I have been on antibiotics for 14 days and two days ago i have been having pain in my girl area, No discharge at all. Burning, slight itching and almost bruised feeling. I took a AZO yeast with no relief…anyone with any other luck with this product? Anyone had a yeast infection without discharge at all? Almost more dry than usual ( though i don’t know if i have paid that close of attention to it. I have been monogamous for 7 years with my husband so I seriously doubt any std of any sort.

Some yeast infections do not cause a discharge – Most times the discharge is thick , white and clumpy like cottage cheese.
But, you can have yeast without the discharge (I know because I have had yeast infections without discharge. (These were diagnosed by my gyno)

Have you tried Monistat or one of the generic brands?
I do not know much about AZO product.
Also, you could have a Bacterial Vaginosis infection which can cause some of the symptoms you are experiencing. This requires a prescription medication to treat.
You can get a BV infection (and altho they say it is a form of an std) people who are monogomous can get this infection.
You could try the Monistat and if it doesn’t clear it up, you should consider going to your gyno.

I thought I had a bladder infection so I went to the doctor and got on some pills that made me feel sick to my stomach and have diarrhea, then I realized it wasn’t a bladder infection at all, it was bacterial vaginosis according to my Gynecologist. So now I’ve been off the bladder infection meds for two days, and have a new gel like vaginal medicine that I’m going to start tonight… but earlier today I still had some diarrhea and upset stomach symptoms? Why is this? Help please.

Why the bladder infection thing?
Your condition is simply treated by anti-biotics..is this what U mean by treatment for the "bladder Infection"
Some anti-biotics do cause diarrhea and whilst this is not so nice..its only temporary.
However, even the diarrhea may play an important role in ridding the body of the infection.
Your infection "Bacterial Vaginosis" is NOT life threatening..is NOT dangerous, in ANY way.
It may cause a foul smelling discharge, but thats all. And thats where the antibiotics can clear it all up. IF U have a difficulty in any antibiotic, ask the doctor to prescribe another type.
IF the stomach thing persists, try taking Enos fruit salts..

I’m not going to the doctor [no insurance] so I’m not 100 percent sure if I have a yeast infection or not. If I take the medication [just incase] will anything bad happen if I don’t have one?

I think I read somewhere that if you do that you’re making future yeast infections more resistant to the medication so they’ll be harder to get rid of.
I’m sure there are tests you can buy to see if you have any type of infection. They should be right next to the yeast infection creams at drug stores.

it literally looks like cheesy texture, it doesn’t smell at all, and it appears to be of large discharge 1-2 weeks prior to menstruation
what the heck can be done to eliminate this? I tried everything…

It is your vaginas self cleaning process the discarge can be any where from clear – off white/pale yellowish if the color It is normal dont worry

probiotics can help, but I always seem to end up needing the Metro Gel anyway.

I am 99.99% sure I don’t have a yeast infection, but I want to know the symptoms please.

PLUS, how can you tell if you’re penis has an infection of any sort?

thank you

you know if you have one if you have had sex with a female that has one. its very unlikely a male wuld just get one out of know where. you probably got it from a girl. if you are very very itchy and your penis or testicles become puffy or red then you have one.

I was diagnosed with BV (Bacterial Vaginosis) at a pelvic exam, I have no symptoms other than slight yellow discharge. No smell, no itch, no pain, nothing.

Does this mean I have mild BV? I know 1/2 of people who has BV has no symptoms, does that means they have a mild case?

Hi, Bacterial vaginosis symptoms are not always the same for every women. Some women show very few symptoms, while in others it can be a lot worse. You do need to get this treated, because it can get worse, and also it can increase the chances of catching STD’s.

The reason why vaginosis happens is because the balance of bacteria in the vagina is disrupted. Meaning that you have more bad bacteria than good. You need to get the balance back to the way it was.

There are 2 ways that you can do this, firstly get something from your doctor. However there is no guarantee that the first medication that you get will work for you.

The second option is to go for a more natural cure, this is what a lot of women have started doing because let’s face it, BV can be embarrassing for a lot of women, and they want to get rid of it as quickly as possible, with the least amount of people knowing that they have it.

There is some decent information about natural bacterial vaginosis cures at the resource below,
